The way I have named the master files uses a method recommended by the Recording Academy's Producers and Engineers Wing, of which I'm a member. GM_Master means me, Greg Mindorff (my initials GM) created this master file intended for release. You can rename the files and it does not affect the sound, however I would recommend you make a copy first so if there is confusion in the future as to which file is the master, you can go back to the original master file. If there is an additional master I create at a later date, it will be named GM_Master2 and so on. wav 48k24: 48 kHz sample rate, 24 bit depth. The highest quality master for this project. Suitable for digital distribution (Distrokid, Tunecore, Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple, Youtube, etc.), vinyl, cassette, music video. wav 44k16: 44.1 kHz sample rate, 16 bit depth. This is CD quality for CD manufacturing or some older forms of distribution that may specifically ask for it (possibly CD Baby). mp3 320: This is mp3 at 320 kbps. You can change the file names and it will not affect the sound.
